Tracing the line

Every fence starts with New fence, at the bottom of My fences. There are two ways to trace it.

Walk the line

On site: tap Start at the first post and walk along the line. Tap Gate here as you pass each opening: it takes the width of the previous gate; press and hold it for a walk gate, a driveway gate or another width. Finish asks for the fence's name and customer, then opens it on Materials.

Draw on the map

From the office: search the address, then tap the map at each corner of the line, or use Add a point at the crosshair. Drag a corner to move it, press and hold a side to add a corner on it, and tap a corner to see its coordinates or delete it. Undo goes back one step; Finish saves the line.

Not there yet? Where is your land? opens the search for a village, an address or coordinates, and My location centers the map on you. To check the drawing, draw something whose length you know, such as a wall or an existing fence, then use Compare to a known length in the ⋮ menu of the map.

After tracing

On the Line step, turn on Closed loop when the fence comes back to where it started, and adjust the Corner threshold: sharper bends get a corner post. Measure again on the map reopens the line on the map to correct it; a walked line can also be extended with Continue this measurement.
