Fence Calc user guide

Fence Calc follows the job in order: trace the line, list the materials, set the posts, hand over the quote.

The job, in four steps

Every fence opens on four steps, in the order of the work: Line, Materials, Install and Quote. Your fences are listed in My fences, each with a drawing of its line.

  1. Trace the line, by walking it or drawing it on the map.
  2. List the materials: the fence type, the posts, what goes between them, concrete and hardware, with your prices.
  3. Set the posts on site, one after the other.
  4. Hand over the quote: labor, other items, tax, your details, a PDF.

The guide

  • Tracing the line — Every fence starts with New fence, at the bottom of My fences. There are two ways to trace it.
  • Materials — The fence type, the settings, the hardware, and the order list.
  • Install — The next post to set, with an arrow and its distance.
  • Quote — What the customer pays for, and the PDF you hand over.
  • Suppliers — Your yards, their prices, and which price each line takes.
  • Default values — Set your usual values once; every new fence starts from them.
  • GPS accuracy — What the GPS can do on a fence line, and how to do better.
  • My data — Where your fences live, and how to keep them.

Where to find things

The ⋮ menu of a fence holds the Staking plan, Use these values as defaults and Duplicate fence. The settings hold your Suppliers, your Default values, My data and this User guide, which is also in the menu of My fences.
